If you are a lucky “Mother of the Groom” that will be attending a beach wedding then you’ll have a few simple options to look and feel your best on your sons wedding day. Now let’s start with dresses, finding the right mother of the groom dresses sure isn’t like going to the store and buying a gallon of milk but we can make the purchase a little less hassle than it needs to be.
Regarding style: Tea length, strapless, short or long but the first thing you’ll need to do is coordinate with the bride and bridesmaid dresses then finally you will need to coordinate with the mother of the bride as well. Ultimately it will be up to the bride what kind of dress theme all the ladies will be wearing so let’s assume for the moment that decision has been made for you.
Your next and possibly the most important decision when buying your dress is size. Believe it or not most Moms plan on losing a few pounds before the big day and buy their dress months is advance a size or two on the small side while you may have good intentions let’s face it we fall short of our aggressive weight loss goals by the time the wedding day comes around. Keeping that in mind consider ordering a dress that will be a good fit and leave some room for adjustment.
Yes it’s important to be comfortable since you will be in that dress for what is a very long day. We of course want to look great first and be comfortable next. If your miserable it’s going to show and you don’t want to be thinking about how uncomfortable you are all day long.
Now let’s talk about shoes, depending on how close to the beach the wedding actually is will depend on your shoe options. If your on the sand then you will be one of the lucky mother of the groom dresses beach wedding because you’ll be choosing sandals and may not be wearing shoes at all during the ceremony. So you better make sure your toes are manicured to perfection and your feet are in tip top shape.
Lastly now that your comfortable and looking like a million bucks all you have to do is enjoy the big day with your son and welcome the newest member to your family. Mother of the groom dresses are a big responsibility but with a little preparation and planning you will have no issues and look your best on the wedding day.
